Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Slice the bread into thin pieces, drizzle with olive oil, and toast until golden and crisp.
  • In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with a little heavy cream or yogurt until spreadable. Stir in the lemon zest and a pinch of pepper.

Assembly

  • Spread a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture onto each slice of toasted bread.
